A safety valve is the last line of protection against excessive pressure in an installation. A spring-loaded mechanism keeps the valve closed until the set opening pressure is reached; above that, the valve opens automatically and releases the excess pressure in a controlled way. As soon as the pressure drops back below the set value, the valve closes again on its own. The valve operates fully self-acting, without external energy, protecting pressure vessels, boilers and pipework against damage. Available in brass, stainless steel, bronze and cast iron, with threaded or flanged connections.
